Pear, blue cheese and walnut bites

What a perfect nibble for dinner guests and cocktail parties. These pear and blue cheese canapes look as good as they taste.

Pear, blue cheese and walnut bites
  • 1 firm beurre bosc pear
  • 60 gram soft, mild blue cheese
  • 6 walnuts, roughly chopped
  • 2 teaspoon chives, finely chopped
  • extra-virgin olive oil, to drizzle
  • cracked black pepper

    Cut six 2mm slices of pear close to, but not including, the core to get as large a slice as possible.

    Top each with a piece of blue cheese. Sprinkle the cheese with walnuts and chives.

    Bend the pear slices to contain the filling and skewer to hold in place.
  • 4
    Place on a serving platter and drizzle with a little extra-virgin olive oil and cracked pepper. Serve immediately.
