This mouthwatering pear and date crumble stirs in sweet honey and a generous hint of spices for a warming winter dessert.

Method

1.Preheat oven to moderate (180°C/160°C fan-forced). Grease a shallow 1 litre (4 cup) ovenproof dish.
2.Peel, core and slice pears. Combine pears, the water and rind in a large pan; cook, uncovered, for about 10 minutes or until pears are just tender. Remove from heat; discard rind, stir in dates.
3.Meanwhile, sift flour into a small bowl, stir in oats. Rub in and spread with fingertips; then stir in honey and spices.
4.Place pear mixture in prepared dish and sprinkle with crumble mixture. Bake for about 30 minutes or until browned lightly.

Not suitable to freeze. Pear mixture suitable to microwave.
