Warm mixed berry filling with a crunchy crumble topping makes a delightful dessert at any time of year. Serve with whipped cream or ice cream.

Mixed berry crumble
  • 1 1/3 cup frozen mixed berries, thawed
  • 1 tablespoon caster sugar
  • 2 tablespoon plain flour
  • 2 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 30 gram butter, chopped
  • 1/4 cup shredded coconut
  • 2 tablespoon traditional rolled oats, to serve
  • whipped cream, to serve

    Preheat oven to 200°C/180°C fan-forced. Lightly grease a 750ml (3-cup) rectangular ovenproof dish. Place dish on a baking tray.

    Combine berries and caster sugar in a small bowl. Spoon berries into prepared dish.

    Place flour, brown sugar, butter, coconut and oats in a medium bowl. Using fingertips, rub together until combined. Sprinkle over berries. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until golden and bubbling. Serve with cream.


Make ahead: Prepare crumble in a glass or ceramic dish 4 hours before baking. Keep chilled. Add a pinch of ground cinnamon or nutmeg to crumble mixture.
