Grilled cinnamon doughnuts with maple syrup

Assuming you find yourself with left-over doughnuts to hand, a big assumption granted, there's no better way to eat them than grilled with maple syrup.

Ingredients

  • 6 cinnamon doughnuts
  • 1/2 cup (125ml) maple syrup
  • 8 scoops vanilla ice-cream

    Split doughnuts in half horizontally. Cook doughnuts, in batches, on a heated, oiled grill plate until browned lightly on both sides.

    Drizzle doughnuts with maple syrup; serve with ice-cream.

Notes

To ensure that you are buying pure maple syrup, check the label - it should be the only ingredient. This recipe is best made just before serving. Not suitable to freeze. Not suitable to microwave.
