Green beans with black sesame sauce
  • 200 gram green beans
  • 1/3 cup (50g) black sesame seeds, toasted
  • 1 tablespoon caster (superfine) sugar
  • 1 tablespoon japanese soy sauce
  • 2 teaspoon mirin

Method

Green beans with black sesame sauce

    Cut beans in half lengthways, then in half widthways. Cook in saucepan of boiling, salted water for 2 minutes. Drain, then refresh in iced water. Drain, pat dry with absorbent paper.

    Blend, process or grind seeds using mortar and pestle until coarse. Transfer to medium bowl, stir in sugar, sauce and mirin until combined. Add green beans, toss to coat.
