Combination dumplings

These dumplings in fragrant broth will be ready to eat in just 25 minutes, making this a quick and easy weekday meal.

Ingredients

Combination dumplings
  • 1 litre (4 cups) chicken consomme
  • 2 cup water
  • 3 cm piece fresh ginger, peeled, cut into matchsticks
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 250 gram frozen pork dumplings
  • 150 gram thin dried egg noodles
  • 1 bunch (175g) broccolini, cut into 3 cm lengths
  • 150 gram snow peas, halved
  • 1/2 x 225g can sliced bamboo shoots, drained
  • 2 green onions, thinly sliced

Method

    Place consomme, the water, ginger and soy sauce in a large saucepan over high heat. Bring to the boil. Reduce heat. Add dumplings; cook for 6-8 minutes or until dumplings are cooked.

    Add remaining ingredients. Simmer for 3-4 minutes or until noodles are tender. Divide noodles, vegetables and dumplings between bowls. Ladle over hot broth. Serve.

Notes

You'll find consomme at supermarkets. You could use chicken stock instead, if you like.
