Chocolate fudge sauce

Chocolate fudge sauce is the perfect accompaniment to ice-cream, puddings and poached fruit. Just one taste of our deluxe home made version and we're confident you'll never resort to the bottled stuff again.

Chocolate fudge sauce
  • 200 gram (6½ ounces) coarsely chopped dark (semi-sweet) eating chocolate
  • 20 gram (¾ ounce) butter
  • 1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup pouring cream

    Place chocolate and butter in small heatproof bowl set over small saucepan of simmering water (do not allow water to touch base of bowl); stir until chocolate is melted

    Add vanilla extract and cream; stir until combined.

    Serve sauce warm.


Makes enough sauce for four servings of ice-cream. Also goes well with puddings and poached fruit.
