Chocolate brownie with warm chocolate sauce
- 150 gram butter, chopped
- 300 gram dark eating chocolate, coarsely chopped
- 1 1/2 cup (330g) firmly packed brown sugar
- 4 eggs, lightly beaten
- 1 cup (150g) plain flour
- 1/2 cup (120g) sour cream
- 1/2 cup (75g) toasted hazelnuts, coarsely chopped
Warm chocolate sauce
- 150 gram dark eating chocolate, coarsely chopped
- 300 millilitre thickened cream
- 1/3 cup (75g) firmly packed brown sugar
- 2 teaspoon coffee-flavoured liqueur
Method
Chocolate brownie with warm chocolate sauce
- 1Preheat oven to 180°C. Grease a 20cm x 30cm lamington pan and line base and sides with baking paper.
- 2Stir butter and chocolate in a small saucepan over low heat until mixture is smooth. Transfer to a medium bowl.
- 3Stir in sugar and eggs, then flour, sour cream and nuts. Spread mixture into prepared pan. Bake, uncovered, for about 30 minutes. Cool in pan.
- 4Meanwhile, to make warm chocolate sauce, stir chocolate, cream and sugar in small saucepan over low heat until mixture is smooth. Remove from heat; stir in liqueur.
- 5Cut brownie into 16 pieces; serve drizzled with warm chocolate sauce.
