Chilli tuna spaghetti

This simple spicy tuna pasta dish is perfect for a quick weeknight meal or emergency entertaining. The chilli can be served on the side if you're feeding children.

Chilli tuna spaghetti
  • 375 gram spaghetti or spaghettini
  • 1 long red chilli, finely sliced on the diagonal
  • 425 gram can yellowfin tuna chunks in olive oil
  • 2 tablespoon extra virgin olive oil
  • 2 roma tomatoes, seeded, diced
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • basil leaves and shaved parmesan, to serve

    Cook spaghetti in a large saucepan of boiling, salted water according to packet directions. Drain and keep warm.

    Heat saucepan on high. Add chilli and tuna with oil and cook for 1 minute. Return spaghetti to pan with extra virgin olive oil, tomato and lemon juice. Toss for 1 minute or until heated through. Season to taste.

    Serve pasta topped with basil leaves and shaved parmesan.


Serve sliced chilli separately if your kids don't like the flavour.
