Chicken kebabs with garlic sauce

Wrap fresh pita bread snugly around this delicious chicken kebab with garlic sauce. Add plenty of fresh salad and you have perfectly balanced meal, with limited washing up. Win.

Ingredients

Chicken kebabs with garlic sauce
  • 1 kilogram chicken thigh fillets
  • 4 clove garlic, crushed
  • 1 cup (250ml) lemon juice
  • 1/4 cup (60ml) olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon sea salt
  • 1 bulb garlic (70g approximately), peeled, chopped coarsely
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 2 teaspoon water
  • 2 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 cup (250ml) olive oil

    Cut chicken in 3cm pieces; place in large bowl with combined garlic, juice, oil and salt. Cover tightly; refrigerate 3 hours or overnight, turning occasionally

    Drain chicken; discard marinade. Thread pieces of chicken on long metal skewers; cook on preheated grill plate (or grill or barbecue) until browned all over and cooked through. Serve with Garlic Sauce and, if desired, warmed pitta bread.
