Candy cane fudge
  • 500 gram white chocolate melts
  • 395 gram can sweetened condensed milk
  • 30 gram butter
  • 1/3 cup finely chopped peppermint candy canes, plus 1/4 cup extra, to sprinkle

    [KIDS Line base and sides of a 20cm (base measurement) square cake pan with baking paper.]

    Place chocolate, condensed milk and butter in a medium heatproof bowl over a saucepan of simmering water (don't let base of bowl touch the water). Cook and stir for 8-10 minutes or until melted and smooth.

    Remove bowl from pan. [KIDS Add candy canes; stir until well combined. Working quickly, pour mixture into prepared pan; level top. Tap pan on bench to release any air bubbles.]

    Chill fudge for 2 hours or until set. Transfer fudge to a board. Cut into squares. [KIDS Decorate with extra candy canes.] Serve chilled.
