Cajun-spiced chicken burgers
- 600 gram chicken mince
- 2 tablespoon plain flour
- 1 tablespoon cajun seasoning
- 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
- 2 medium (280g) tomatoes, chopped finely
- 1 medium (75g) red onion, chopped finely
- 1 loaf (430g) turkish bread
- 4 butter lettuce leaves
- 1 avocado, sliced
- 2 tablespoon mayonnaise
- sweet chilli sauce, for serving
Method
Cajun-spiced chicken burgers
- 1Place mince in a bowl, season well with salt and freshly ground black pepper. Shape mixture into four large patties. Coat patties in combined flour and cajun seasoning; discard excess flour mixture.
- 2Heat oil in a large non-stick frying pan; add patties, cook until browned on both sides and cooked through.
- 3Meanwhile, combine tomato, onion, and salt to taste in a medium bowl.
- 4Cut turkish bread into four pieces; split pieces in half. Toast, cut-side up, under pre-heated grill.
- 5Layer four toasted bread bases with lettuce, avocado and patties, then mayonnaise and tomato mixture. Top with sweet chilli sauce and remaining bread slices.
