Beef teriyaki platter
- 3 thick (600g) sirloin steaks, trimmed
- 1/3 cup (80ml) teriyaki sauce
- 3 piece fresh ginger, grated finely
- 1 clove garlic, crushed
- 500 gram thick asparagus, trimmed
- 8 large green onions, trimmed
- 1 teaspoon wasabi paste
- 1/4 cup (60ml) japanese soy sauce
- steamed rice, to serve
Method
Beef teriyaki platter
- 1Place the steaks, teriyaki sauce, ginger and garlic in a dish; cover. Refrigerate 3 hours or overnight to marinate.
- 2Drain steaks from teriyaki mixture. Cook steaks on a heated, oiled barbecue (or grill plate) until browned on both sides and cooked as desired. Transfer steaks to a warm plate, cover and stand for 5 minutes.
- 3Meanwhile, cook asparagus and onions on a heated, oiled barbecue (or grill plate) until just tender.
- 4Slice the steaks thinly and place on a warmed serving platter with asparagus and green onions. Serve with wasabi, soy sauce and steamed rice, if desired.
