This superfood smoothie is delicious, nutritious and filling.

Ingredients

Avocado and banana smoothie
  • 1 medium avocado (250g), halved, stone removed
  • 1 medium banana (200g), quartered
  • 1 cup (250ml) coconut water
  • 1/2 cup (140g) greek-style yoghurt
  • 1 tablespoon lime juice
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 1/2 cup ice cubes
  • 1/2 cup ice cubes, extra
  • 1 tablespoon chia seeds
  • 2 tablespoon coconut flakes, toasted

Method

Avocado and banana smoothie

    Blend avocado, banana, coconut water, yoghurt, juice, honey and ice until smooth.

    Divide extra ice between two 1½-cup (375ml) glasses; pour in smoothie. Top with chia seeds and coconut flakes. Serve immediately. Garnish with strips of lime rind, if you like.
