- 125 gram butter
- 2/3 cup caster sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1/2 cup self-raising flour
- 1/2 cup plain flour
- 1/3 cup milk
- 1 apple, grated
- 1/4 cup slivered almonds
Method
Apple almond cake
- 1Preheat oven to 180°C. Grease a deep 20cm round cake pan, line base with paper; grease paper.
- 2Cream butter and sugar in small bowl with electric mixer until light and fluffy; beat in eggs one at a time, beat until combined.
- 3Transfer mixture to large bowl, stir in half the sifted flours with half the milk, then stir in remaining flour and milk, stir until smooth.
- 4Spread into prepared pan, sprinkle with apple and almonds, bake for about 45 minutes. Stand 5 minutes before turning on to wire rack to cool.
