Almonds are rich in nutrients such as protein, fibre, vitamin E, zinc, potassium, iron, and calcium. Almond milk also contains flavonoids, which help to lower levels of "bad" cholesterol and protect the heart. Powerful antioxidants in almonds help support a strong immune system.

Almond and avocado protein smoothie
  • 1 cup unsweetened almond milk
  • 1 tablespoon protein powder, vanilla flavour (lactose- and gluten-free)
  • 2 tablespoon almond butter
  • 1/2 medium ripe avocado, peeled, seed removed
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 1/2 medium banana
  • 1 cup ice cubes

    Place ingredients in high speed blender in order. Blend on high speed for about 1 minute or until smooth and creamy.


Suitable to freeze. Protein powder is available at large supermarkets and health food stores.
