1.Process nuts, onion, mint, oil and juice until smooth; season to taste.
2.Preheat grill (broiler).
3.Split bread lengthways; cut each half lengthways into three fingers then cut fingers into four crossways to get 24 slices. Toast bread under grill.
4.Spread almond mixture on half the toasts; top with figs and cheese. Top with remaining toasts; serve warm or cold.
