Dried fruit compote

Compote is traditionally a dessert, but as shown here it can also be served over warm porridge as a breakfast dish.

Method

1.In a large bowl, combine dried fruit with cloves, cinnamon and orange zest.
2.Place tea bags and sugar in a large jug, then pour over boiling water. Stir to combine. Set aside to infuse for 5 minutes.
3.Discard tea bags and pour tea over fruit. Mix well. Cover with plastic wrap and chill overnight to soak.
4.Serve with yoghurt, if liked.

To avoid the over soaking, microwave the tea and fruit mixture on high (100%) power for 5 minutes, allow to cool and serve. You can add apple slices, orange segments or berries before serving.
