Method

1.Grease deep 25cm round cake pan, line base with baking paper.
2.Using both packets, prepare cake mix according to directions; pour into prepared pan. Bake in moderate oven about 1 hour. Stand cake in pan 5 minutes; turn onto wire rack to cool.
3.Cut out face shape. Place cake on 35cm round cake board.
4.To make butter cream; beat butter until white as possible, gradually beat in half the sifted icing sugar then milk, then remaining icing sugar. Beat until smooth.
5.Tint three-quarters of the butter cream with orange colouring; then tint remainder with violet colouring. Using picture as a guide, spread cake with orange and violet butter cream.
6.Cut licorice strap into thin strips, position licorice strips for mouth using tweezers. Cut a small piece off each green smartie and position the larger pieces for teeth.
7.Place mints in position for eyes. Secure blue smarties onto mints with butter cream.
8.Position remaining licorice, using picture as a guide. Insert jelly worms into top of head for hair.
