Sweet potato recipes for lunch, dinner or dessert

All the savoury dishes like our Indian spiced quinoa and kumara cakes, shepherds pie, and pizzas. Or, try blending your sweet potatoes up for desserts like pies, tarts and muffins.

There's so much to love about this humble root vegetable. For starters, kumara, or sweet potato, have a lower glycemic index rating (GI) rating than regular potatoes, providing a healthy, slow-releasing carbohydrate that will keep you fuller for longer.
It's also extremely versatile, and isn't limited to being a side to your Sunday roast (not that this isn't delicious). Try including kumara in your savoury dishes like our Indian spiced quinoa and kumara cakes, mashed up on top of shepherds pie, or sliced thinly atop pizza.
But it's not just limited to savoury meals. Kumaras are naturally sweet, so they go perfect in muffins, cakes, slices and pies.
